Wilmington, North Carolina is launching a new food and drink festival this month to showcase and celebrate the region’s emergence as a top culinary destination. Feast Wilmington takes place March 22-24 at Live Oak Bank Pavilion.
Feast Wilmington will feature three days of events with 70 restaurants, 20 breweries, spirits, wine and music. All events will be held at the Live Oak Bank Pavilion at Riverfront Park in downtown Wilmington.
This is the first ever Feast Wilmington event. Wilmington has previously hosted Craft + Cuisine, a festival pairing breweries and restaurants, and that event is now encompassed within Feast Wilmington.
“We’re really excited to have so many talented restaurant and beverage industry professionals gathered for our inaugural Feast events. They will truly be a celebration of Wilmington’s dynamic food and beverage scene” says Jessica Maurer, director of Feast Wilmington.
Maurer says the idea for Wilmington to have a high-end food and drink festival originated with the city’s Mayor, Bill Saffo. She adds that one of the reasons behind launching the festival is the restaurant scene’s growth over the past 20 years. The city boasts several James Beard Award nominees and an expanding ethnic restaurant scene. Wilmington has become a culinary destination, not just a beautiful beach town.
Feast Wilmington is produced by Wilmington Media and Marketing and will benefit Food Bank at Wilmington and Cape Fear Craft Beer Alliance.
