Midwest Coast Brewing opened its doors in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago in 2019, and to celebrate hitting five years, they will be hosting an anniversary event all day on Saturday, September 28th. Despite the obvious bump in the road in 2020, they have been able to craft exceptional beers, open up a beautiful year-round patio (an absolute treat in the midwest winter), and maintain a loyal customer base throughout these five years. This celebration is a thank you to the customers and craft beer community that has made this last half decade possible.
Schedule of Events
The anniversary party will kick off at noon and will last into the night, with live music starting at 1pm and food trucks available throughout the day. Below is a detailed schedule of events:

Special Beer Release
Of course, it wouldn’t be a five year party without a special beer to commemorate the occasion! To make it even more special, it will be their 500th batch of beer brewed by Midwest Coast. They will be using an ancient English style of brewing called Parti-Gyle to yield two beers out of one grain bill. While this is a new technique for the brewing team, they’ll be utilizing a version of their English Sporting Beer recipe to create both a Strong Ale and a Mild Ale.
Let’s Celebrate!
The Midwest Coast team is excited to celebrate with the Chicago craft beer community. “We are incredibly proud to reach our 5th anniversary,” said Cameron Compton, Owner and
Head Brewer at Midwest Coast Brewing Company. “When we look back to opening right
before the pandemic, unsure if we would survive, to five years later celebrating the community that
we’ve built and expanding to a second floor and rooftop is incredible! Celebrating couples who
had their first dates with us, followed by engagement celebrations to baby showers has been so
special. And we can’t forget seeing all the pups that come through the taproom (dog birthdays!)
and rescues that we’ve been honored to help support their fundraising. We cannot thank our
regulars and everyone who has visited us, enough. We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone on
September 28th!”
